I think almost everybody who plays this game just gets freaked out by all the blinking messages "pull up!!" "right! right!". It's too noisy, and distracts them from matching the speed/altitude given.
When my friends and I first played this, none of us could land and could only refuel if we got lucky. About a year later I rented or borrowed it and realized how much easier it was if you just ignore the backseat driver. Beating it didn't take long once that was figured out.

I had Top Gun as a kid and I could land the plane. Really, its not hard. Being able to read only further decreases the difficulty to a sure thing.

I watched this video. First of all, bad beat on that Flyers game, but at least you're not a Mets fan (Or if you are, I feel your pain). Secondly, the Top Gun portion wasn't nearly as informative as I had hoped it would be. I watched Skip's video and his advice is much better. I made a map, scored more points, and used FAST reflexes. Skip helped me win the game. You should practice all day every day.

Ouch - that hurts. I mean, comparing me to Mr. Skip Rogers? How on earth could I compete with the WVGC?!?! I can dream though - back to my ovaltine.

Both sides may be near getting kicked out of the playoffs by the Pens. At least you could say that the Flyers got eliminated first.
Yeah, know it isn't over, but unless the Canes are the Red Sox (or the other two NHL teams to have done so), a 3-0 game deficit is about as near of a game over as you can get without it being official .

...at the time, well I probably would have said the same thing.
It was a fun ride, and we haven't made it this far in a while. But we get to kick it off with the Flyers opening night this season...sure hope I've got a couple of Philly boys with me at the game :)
