On seven acres next to county parkland, Oakland City Stables could offer public access to horseback riding lessons, summer camps, inner-city youth programs, therapeutic horseback riding, gardening programs, and more. Oakland citizens voted to purchase the property to be used as a full service riding, teaching and training stable. $500,000 of park bond money and City matching funds are earmarked for the stable--to remain a stable. For more information, visit MEPS' sustainable plan for the stable at www.oaklandcitystables.org.
