Windhaven : Meteors & Landings (dev. video #13)

Windhaven is a fantasy flight simulation game, in development for the Xbox360 and PC. It uses a unique control layout (one stick for each wing) and flexible-lifting-surface physics model to capture the experience of bird flight. Windhaven has 16 story missions with voice acting and cutscenes, racing, shooting and soaring challenges, and a realistic bird flight simulation mode.

It's been a while since I've posted a video, so this is a fairly long one. It shows the meteor storm attack, ether flight ability, ground and water landings (about half way through), the worm enemies, various game modes and stuff I've previously shown. There are a lot of engine improvements that aren't all that visible, but necessary for Xbox360 performance. You can see the adaptive motion blur working in this video though. There are still some glitches with folded wing and shadow rendering, but I'll fix those later.

Unfortunately development is still going slowly at the moment due to commercial workload, but I will continue to work on it whenever I can.

@kirbycathy I am aiming for the next 'Indie Games Uprising' promotion, but the date for that has not been set yet. My guess would be March 2012. I might not make it though, it depends how much time I get to work on the game between now and then.

Are you able to land on a tree or ground instead of just water?And is their like, multiplayer so we could Roleplay? :P

@Blu3star312 Please see my latest video (last part) for ground landings & golden nests. Perching in trees is not done yet but it is on the to-do list; there will be an award for managing to land the swan on a branch. Co-operative (free flight, island defence) and competitive (races & team battle) multiplayer is also planned.
