  • wow and I was told to take Splenda since I have diabeties. Guess I'll go back to sugar, or look into stevia.

  • @Missalomaa Try Ideal. That's what I use. It is made of Xylitol, which is a plant extract, like Stevia. It also has just a touch of sucralose in it. To me it tastes just like sugar! Not all stores carry it, but if you live in the south, Food Lion and BiLo carry it. Check it out at their website. Google "Ideal Sweetener" to find it.

  • @joel10000a Sucralose is Splenda though. If you have type 2 diabetes, do research online about vegetarian diets, there's been some crazy results, with some people curing their type 2 altogether.

  • Stevia!

  • I only use dates and raw stevia as my sweetners. Raw vegan ftw.

  • @SuedeHillsOrganic Where can I find the "green" stevia? I have been buying my white power stevia on eBay.

  • @SuedeHillsOrganic I have started using "Ideal" which is mostly Xylatol, plus I mix liquid stevia with it, in my coffee. To me this tastes GREAT! I think "Ideal" tastes as good as sugar, but it is expensive, so I cut it with my home made liquid stevia (made from 10% by weight white stevia powder, 60% glycerin, 40% water by volume mixture). A magnetic stirrer is needed to stir the stevia into the water, because it takes a while to go into solution, then I add the glycerin.

  • @joel10000a If your stevia has a bad aftertaste and is dissolving into the water chances are that you are using a White Stevia Powder which already has a 'sugar substitute' filler. I have found that white processed Stevia powders are the only ones with the bitter aftertaste. I would suggest you switch to Green Stevia Powder as it is much better for you

  • @NWforager I'm happy to see someone else who uses NATURAL Stevia, meaning the whole leaf powder :)
