Makeda and Miguel were captured in an impromptu performance of the Mambo/Salsa at the Camarada club in Spanish Harlem. It was completely unrehearsed and thus has the improvisational quality that all good dancers in this genre has. It is like the jazz dance, in which each participant must pay close attention to the menauevers of their partner and make split second creative decisions that enhance rather that injure the perfromance. Here is an excellent example of how it's done...never mind the stiff choreography on "Dancing With The Stars!" The lighting is bad because it's in a club and it was shot with a small digital camera. Perhaps there are ways to brighten it up. we'll see.
