Beautiful work! I just watched your video on the application - very nice. Thanks for the recipe and the simplicity in direction.
I recently posted a slideshow of some of my past and recent work. Perhaps your inspiration to do terra sig. will be next.
Thanks for the sharing! Sharon

Nice forms, nice tooling at the base. The vessels look great in a natural environment. Any suggestions for the best non yellowing paste?

I am so new to ceramics, tell me what is ball clay ? does it come in a power form .or a block of moist clay or what? . Love your work. Thanks gigipinky1

@gigipinky1 ball clay also called china clay or kaolin, a very plastic clay. I get it in powder form from my ceramic supply store.

WoW, Such beautiful pieces. What is the base glaze? What is sig? thanks
doriecronin 2 years ago
There is no glaze at all. sig is a very fine slip. the consistency of milk. the sig is applied with a brush to the bone dry pot. check out my other videos, there is one on how I apply terra sig. thanks so much for your comments.
regards, Sue.

I use a liquid wax. The brand name is 'Trewax' I think it is mainly used for flooring. It goes on very easy, and i have not had a problem with yellowing at all.
Thanks for having a look!
