PAL-60 Test: Pinnacle 510-USB (Failure)

Pinnacle 510-USB doesn't support PAL-60, but here you can see what happens if you try to capture PAL-60 anyway. Equipment: Windows XP SP3 laptop, Xbox 360, and HDTV. Pinnacle 510-USB came with my Pinnacle Studio MovieBox Plus package. You get some sort of preview screen (usually gray) with these programs and settings: 1) AMCap: NTSC_M, NTSC_433, PAL_M, SECAM_K (with error). 2) VirtualDub: NTSC_M, NTSC_M_J, NTSC_433, PAL_M. 3) Windows Movie Maker: NTSC_M, NTSC_433, PAL_M. With the best setting I can only get a gray video, so I'm calling this test a failure. PAL system is used for example in Europe.

how do you set up the cables to do this

@tylerxcried I connected the official Xbox 360 composite cable to the video capture card and that's pretty much it.

I have the same Pinnacle 510-USB device. Question: do you know why if I capture a 2 hour vhs home movie with this device, does the video file take up 20gb of space on my hard drive. I am using mp4 so i don't think that it should take up so much space. If you have any ideas let me know.

@redshiftexperiment Unfortunately I can't capture videos from my VHS recorder as the output interface seems to be a very old standard.

@redshiftexperiment What I do is that I put it on Sony Vegas and it wont take a lot of space!

same problem but i have it on ntsc and if i try to go to the best quailty it does that :(
