This is Lucy my cat at the shop during late evening hours. She just had her claws trimmed earlier that day. Then "soft paws" were applied to keep her from damaging expensive furniture. She looked nice with her pink collar and pink soft claws.

Here she is trying to catch her favorite toy, but just can't seem to grab it this time and throws a tantrum.

Originally found her as a severly malnourished and nearly dead runt of her litter.

Worked hard to keep her alive. This is her adult size after one year and does not weigh more than 3 pounds with endless activity.

Because of malnutrition at her young age, nuerological problems became apparent as she grew. Had slightly cloudy eyes and hearing problems.

Some fear of permanent blindness, but turned out she had excellent vision. Hearing did not seem to improve.

When around other cats, she would have a severely traumatic reaction which included symptoms of paralysis and seizures.

Strangely at our house, there was the neighbors' street-smart outdoor cat she was happily infatuated with. Every morning and evening Lucy wanted to be outside with her new friend who waited at the door. Kept an eye on Lucy because she had no fear of automobiles as she couldn't hear them.

Unfortunately I lost her. She was hit by a car just outside the house. Following day, her newfound friend was killed in the exact identical road space. What is going on?

Only lost sight of her for a few moments... a minor distraction was all it took to lose her. The neighbors' street saavy cat seemed sad and lost the day afterward. She too was killed by a car in the same place Lucy was.

She was one in a million cat with intense intelligence and a vibrant personality. Have had 4 dogs and dozens of cats on the farm. But this little cat was something I bonded to more than any other animal.

She always played fetch and wherever I would sit... she would bring all of her toys next to me.

I miss her

  • Brilliant tantrum.. I remember my first tantrum, good times. Cute cat, fun to watch.

  • Put that cat into a lunar tank or UFO with laser weapons.....

    Dear God....

Gavin to Lucy: BE HAPPY, it's a fun ball.. leave it alone :D

  • I totally lost you there..

  • moral is,

sometimes it's good to be very (over)energetic yet contained in a small package that limits total damage.

  • My condolences.

  • Thanks joey. The furniture is happier, but Lucy's antics are very much missed.

Somewhere on a memory card lost in a drawer far far away there is a video of her riding on my Roomba vacuum cleaner...
