@Atalanta01 thrust me, we all know the difficulties of learning a foreign language, since we are being taught english at school. well, in her case it's not even a foreign language. her father is greek and he probably used to speak in greek, just like her grandma did. she was raised in an environment greek language was spoken. i guess she just wasn't interested in learning any. even if it's difficult for her, she ought to know more than 5 greek phrases, know how to communicate.

to learn a language one parents must speak one language while the other speaks another it works. I learned this too late for my kids they are learning their second language now in their twenties. My friend speaks to his son only in Greek the Mom in English and his son knows both well.
