Michele Bachmann: Democrats = Swine Flu Pandemic

Michele Bachmann is at it again: Attributing flu pandemics to Democratic presidents.

Bachmann did an interview with the right-wing Pajamas Media, and had this to say:

"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter," said Bachmann. "And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence."

As the Minneapolis/St. Paul City Pages points out, Bachmann has the 1970s flu outbreak all wrong. It happened in 1976 when Gerald Ford was in office.

This also shows just how shallow Bachmann's historical understanding is. She could have easily also referred back to the infamous 1918 Spanish flu pandemic -- Woodrow Wilson was president at that time, don't you know!

UM....In 1976 when the Swine Flu broke out Gerald Ford was Pres. Either this person is the world's BIGGEST IDIOT!!!! Or this is a ploy for attention!!! I would think that a Sen. I guess the fact that the swine flu was found to be created and unnatural doesn't compute, although she was being tongue in cheek there was a little hint in there.

Oh, that's right, if it involves believing anyone in the "government" would do something negative, bad, evil, etc. for an ulterior motive like money and power, or to fulfill some agenda, it has to be a crazy conspiracy theory. Despite all that we already know these people do.

On February 5, 1976, in the United States an army recruit at Fort Dix said he felt tired and weak. He died the next day and four of his fellow soldiers were later hospitalized. Unfortunately for Michelle the President in office at the time was Gerald Ford (R). Mrs. Bachmann has made so many factual errors and misstatements that even the Republicans now keep her at arm length. Fox news has gone cold and rarely mentions her these days.
