I don't think his mother would really want the cupcake back after it landed in the grass and possibly dog poo.

@BoruJudasDedrich It's a very cute cartoon...but it wouldn't surprise me if the guy was "on something" when he created this.

@thesixtiesguy Too bad Jim and Tammy didn't watch this episode more often.

Lying lips are an Obama-nation to the Lord...and everyone else!

Lying lips to the lord!

I loved this bizarre-abstract cartoon as a kid. It was featured on the Oopsy the Clown show on Sunday mornings in the seventies. However, UPA didn't produce it, it was produced by the Southern Baptist Radio and Television Commission, who were obviously imitating UPA's strange style. Great to see it again!

I don't know what made me think about Jot today but I came here immediately to see if I didn't just dream this cartoon up because no one I know seems to remember it. Good to see I'm not crazy.

I really grew up on these. I see now why it's so difficult to lie today.
In any case, one would never expect you to go on a psychotropic hallucination for lying. Now I know ! :)

I loved watching jot and the brady bunch in syndication in the 70's. They taught me many moral lessons.
This particular Jot episode reminds me of Frankenstein. Both discuss how not dealing your negative actions brings you misery. In both cases, they are ostricized and chased by something they created. If you haven't read Frankenstein, it's a beautifully written book. And hats off to Jot's creator for expressing this moral dynamic so well in a mere four minutes. That's art.

It's too bad we all can't be haunted by our disobedience. I watched Jot on believe it or not, the Jim and Tammy Show (Baker) at WYAH TV (started by Pat Robertson) in Portsmouth Virginia. A few years later, I was their paper boy.
