@WinterLamp . @tdzheng .. Why is Hakka frowned upon from then till now? Dr Sun family mentioned in a book that they are Cantonese. I can't understand why Hakka claimed that Dr Sun YS is Hakka. It is such a shameful claim without fact and proof. Why don't Hakka be proud of remarkable Hakka leaders such as former Thai Prime Minister (Thaksin), former Taiwan president (Chen Shui Bian, Lee Teng Hui) and many others....for their corruption charges.

@limyangyang hakkas were often associated to the taiping rebellion at the time which for your info almost toppled the qing dynasty if not for western help, so even if sun yat sen was a hakka, he wouldn't admit it as it was frowned upon at that time. heck we're all chinese so why bother?

Hakka is always barbaric. That is why many Hakka had assimilated into Cantonese (HK, Guangzhou), Hokkien (M'sia, S'pore) and Mandarin Chinese (China & Taiwan) and forget their barbaric dialect. Even language u use is so vulgar. Who told U Dr Sun Yat Sen is Hakka? His family is Cantonese.

Some hakka people also speak vietnamese as well as cantonese, even though they are not born in China nor never been there. Only because it was their mother tongue. Of course, they often don't know any chinese character.
