@chapintex1 well, they could have done it differently. they could have first promised and made water cheaper and privatized, and then start hiking the price while burring the people deeper in debt.

A big part of the problem with water scarcity, aside from pollution & farming, is people living in areas where it is unavailable. L.A., Phoenix, & Las Vegas are examples. They in in the freak'n desert! Phoenix initiated a massive water conservation plan & what happened? Everything they saved, just went to Vegas, so they could build more casino/hotels, & instal usless/wasteful water fountains!

@cloudycrashescars If there was a way to effectively block the sun & air, corporations would privatize them too. The greedy WTO/World bank cause more problems & poverty than they alleviate. I just found out that in many states in the USA, it is illegal to collect rain water! WTF? This century may very well see water wars so volatile/violent , they will make the oil wars of last century seem like play ground slap fights. People will (rightfully) do ANYTHING to ensure a supply of water/LIFE.
i like the bolivian people

@HelmetVanga dude, without water, you can only survive maybe 2 days. If your water service is being cut because of price hikes of up to 200-300% and you can't afford it, then you gotta stand up for this injustice. Water is LIFE. Especially when most of these people are impoverished, as Bolivia is the poorest country in Latin America you know
