In this show we discuss ways to get a good gaming experience despite a money constraint.

This is the flavor episode for "Sports Month." In this episode, we talk about integration of flavor with mechanics to make development of both easier. We also provide a review of "Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup."

The video was done using DAZ 3D Studio (a free download), Mimic for DAZ Studio, and Windows Movie Maker. PC footage was captured using Game Cam and Cam Studio, and all console footage was captured on DVD and retrieved using Easy DVD Ripper. Special effects were done with Adobe After Effects and individual pictures were done in Photoshop. Audio was done with Audacity.

I hope you enjoy the show. Please leave your comments, questions, or suggestions in the feedback section below.

NOTE: This will be the last show for a period of time. I expect to resume the show around May or June of this year.

  • Wow! I used to play Quidditch World Cup when I was younger! Fun game, although like you said, it was a little easy, and rather repetitive too. I also remember the bludgers being hard to control, though that may have been intentional, given their nature.

For the record, the Nordic team was the coolest :D

  • @salvo711

It's funny that you mentioned that team; that was my favorite as well.

  • I was wondering if there were more of these somewhere. I tried to send you a private message, but you've got friend lock on.

I found one video helpful in an argument about randomness; wanted more.

  • There will be more coming. I'm finally settled into the new job, so I'm starting to carve out more discretionary time. I have several scripts in the pipeline. Once I finish getting acclimated to the new software, I should have something for you soon.

Thanks for your patience, and for watching at all. I appreciate your feedback.

  • I always win by getting about 400 points before the snitch is even sighted and even if the other team catches the snitch (which they normaly do) i still win :)

  • @thebgbb NO! France is way cooler

  • Good tool for game makers, I'll keep this in mind :)

  • call me a red coat but I liked the English team their brooms looked like they were made of metal

  • not really, FF1, 2, 3, 4, 5 had professions, 6 had magicite in the form of magic rocks, 7's materia had a physical form, 9 had equipment adaptations, 10 had spheres and 12 had licences

  • That's what almost every Final Fantasy game is like, really. I love it, though.

  • i was always wondering what the game is like
