Edinburgh Cycle Lanes Top 10: No.4

A rundown of the 'top' 10 cycle lanes in Edinburgh, UK.

Just a very basic example of what is wrong with so many of the cycle lanes of the UK, so not just an Edinburgh problem. The lanes aren't in any way protected, so often end up parked in (the hashed lines marking out this one means it is not mandatory for traffic to stay out of it - mind you, the traffic is also ignoring double yellow lines).

This particular lane combines a constant parking problem with and awful patched up and worn surface. A joy to cycle on...

Had the same experince today and filmed it for youtube. I've been logging some of the lanes and noting the pros and cons for those that might to research a route or learn more about my local facilities.

lol, i thought he was going to wave you through when he opened the door. but he seemed to give off vibes he was wanting to go b4 you. not polite given he blocked yr lane. it's weird when ppl get in a car. they are so polite walking down the street (as long as sober!)
