First off the pacesetter header is only 1 5/8" while the Honda b16 head is a little over 1 11/16" this results in an obvious exhaust restriction.

Next is the pacesetter header tubes themselves. They are smaller than most all other headers out there. The tubes narrow after they leave the flange even further decreasing the exhaust flow.

Even the fitment is horrid with the pacesetter. It has always leaked between the flange and the head ever since I had it. There was even an issue with the pacesetter collector. I had to fabricate and adapter to extent my exhaust so it would bold up. The pacesetter header was to short for my application even though it was the correct header for my car.

Performance:
The header compared to the pacesetter here is a 4-1 design where the pacesetter is a 4-2-1. 4-1 are known for their top end flow while the 4-2-1 is better at the low to mid range power. However, the pacesetter posed so much of a restriction that I saw a gain in all areas of the power band.

Closing thought:
Pacesetter has made some great things and I like the company in general but I was really disappointed in this header. The pacesetter is cheap but that's about the only thing it has going for it. Overall I do not recommend this product and suggest you go with a DC Sports or (if you have the money) a Hytech header.

  • I work at pacesetter performance products here in Phoenix. We do a hell of a job doing what we do.

  • @donethat8 And I like most of your products such as the monza exhaust for the old VW Beetle engines. I was just not happy with this particular header. Granted it was a bargain ($150) compared to others ($350 DC Sports), just wish the fitment had been a lot better. I do give Pacesetter credit for a 2 piece header that doesn't leak around the flat gasket. Most of the cheaper ones do. Please fix the collector length and it will be a fair header.

  • want header power switch to a v8 it you want power out your honda boost that thing!

  • @JonLIsALoser got plenty of v8 cars. built a boosted teg and hated it. now i have the hatch in scca and another mustang in the works for a street / strip car.

  • pacesetter iz only nice on american motors

  • @asounds4 I agree but the whole crap quality of this one made me go with JBL on my mustang. I also like the pacesetter exhausts on the old school VW Bugs.
