Billy the Kid played properly on the mandolin (traditional, a la Ry Cooder)

Aside from a couple flubs, I think I did this justice. Figured it out from the recording on Ry's In to the Purple Valley. Chords: g/d/g/c/g/c/g/d/g/d/g. To get this down right, learn your fiddle keys, I also recommend listening to plenty of Yank Rachel (he played in a lot of sleepy john estes recordings). I arpeggiate up the neck, which Ry doesn't do, but I love me some bluegrass(ish) riffs

YAY!! Great job! With ethnic music its not the notes so much as the mood and feel. And you captured it. As a suggestion I would only say to speed up the vibrato of your voice because thats how people sang during that period. VERY VERY GOOD!
