In 2011, Displacement Solutions sent a team to Bangladesh, in partnership with the Association for Climate Refugees, with the purpose of investigating the climate displacement crisis that is already occurring there. This video was taken at an embankment community in Dacope, a subdistrict of Khulna, located in the southwest of Bangladesh. These displaced persons are entitled to the full spectrum of their housing, land and property rights, just like everybody else. Visit www.displacementsolutions.org or email jordan@displacementsolutions.org for more information about the situation in Bangladesh or about climate displacement more broadly. Together, we can solve this crisis!

  • I think the govt of Bangladesh has to take alot of the responsibilty in not investing in areas outside Dhaka. Thiere is no decentra;isation policy, the rest of the country has poor infrastructure and inadequate hosuing, sanitation. Bottom line is the govt does'nt care about the people and simply is'nt doing enough. Ibeleieve they exploit climate refugees to receive foreign aid that doesnt reach the worst affected due to corruption. I applaud your hard woak and awareness of the situation
