No color correction nor post processing.
I started with a camcorder, a 35mm lens (with a base cap), and a glue.
I made the adapter with:
(1)two $1.50 plumbing adapters.
(2)$0.76 plumbing bushing (cap with a hole).
(3)two $7 step-up rings.
(4)Ikea plastic bag (as a filter)
In most cases, you probably need one step-up ring. So, it would be $11.

  • Nice for the price! I think if you use a focusing screen you will have less vignetting.

  • Yes, I agree. Next time, I'll be using it. Thanks.

  • Me to I hope u can make a how to on this adapter.

  • Sorry, I haven't got to it...

It's basically same as the user name "drjassvideo"'s technique. Do a youtube search under "How to build a static 35mm adapter".

Instead of using an extension tube, I am using plumbing adapters from a local hardware store. And, instead of a plastic folder, I am using a grocery bag. I hope that helps.

  • What camera did you use? Do you have a how to video on how you put this adapter together. I think this looks amazing. For so cheap?

  • I used CANON IXY DV2. I'll try to make a 'how to' video when I get a chance. Thanks.

  • @ALKUKES the problem is that the computer can't tell how deep your footage is. As far as most programs are concerned (with the exception of AE CS5) it's a flat image and any standard attempt to bring focus to the subject blurs out everything.

  • @ALKUKES It's very difficult, even professionally, to fake a limited depth of field. The concept of the background and foreground being blurred out while the focus is distinctively on a specific distance could cost you hours in post rotoscoping and using a variety of variable blur effects.

  • i just dont get it whats the pint haveing that when you can use softwares to do that? can any one explain plz im just lost

  • dust
