Why all these stay-at-home mothers and businessmen so desperately need these enormous off-roading vehicles when their activities consist of commutes to and from grocery stores and office buildings???????

This is one thing that needs to stop. I'm not saying buy a prius, because those are horrble. But why not just buy a wagon? It's just as practical but gets 5-10 mpg more! Or how about a large family sedan?

@AdrianC12345 What u said is true and did make a lot of sense, but then again....most SUV's (especially newer ones) are equipped with rollover stability control and have rollcage protection built in. Plus, cars are likely to rollover in an accident as well, i seen it happen before. Trust me! Any vehicle has a chance of rolling over in ANY accident regardless if its an SUV, sedan, station wagon, van..etc. It depends on how bad the accident is and at what speeds your traveling at.

@corvetteboy10 news flash for you...i live in CANADA! tanks are perfectly legal to drive on the roads as long as your insured and have a licence(which due to my years serving in the ROYAL TANK REGIMENT i just happen to have!, the small problem i cant get it insured in SK)as for tanks not been sold on the open market... read the EXCHANGE AND MART(look it up on the internet) they have a few pages each week of tanks,land rovers, ex army lorries and the like for sale!

in fact their is a lad in ALBERTA who owns a CHIFTIAN tank(and they are the BIG BARSTARDS!)and what makes it worse,is it's road legal in ALBERTA!

as for mine,it's stuck back in the UK as SGI(SK's insurance company) will NOT allow it to be driven on public roads here is SK..

@Richboy219 SUVs are not safer than most cars. And more reliable? An SUV is reliable because the engineers made it that way. And SUVs can roll over so easily, and by having an SUV you're chances of killing some one in an accident are higher.
