The 24v VR6 is a great engine!
-
What kind of pistons and crank was this engine running?
-
The VR6 is more similar to an inline 6 engine. It has single cylinder head and the crankshaft has 6 crankpin journals. Each 'bank' of cylinders is staggered closely.
Although called DOHC by VW, the 12 valve version is really an SOHC engine - each camshaft operates the inlet and exhaust valves for each single 'bank' of cylinders.
On the 24 valve version, one camshaft operates the inlet valves and the other camshaft the exhaust valves. It's a clever piece of engineering

WTF...???
Where is Sound :-/
-
this motor sounded amazing, until youtube deleted the FUCKING SOUND!
-
different story all together with 24v 2.8L Vr6's though... way more capable than their 12v older brother...4 digit power numbers are feasable

GReddy T4 turbo and C2fuel management system. Stage 2 clutch 44lbs fuel injectors and EIP air Intake Manifold. I think that should give you an idea what i got.

what setup are you running???
umm, i just want a little info on this engine, i'm a noob when it comes to the vw engines, is this a v6 or an inline 6? i heard that its a v6 but its only 15 degree block so they share the same cylinder head? any info guys?

kinetic motorsport sell nice kits for the VR6. How much you can have in it is your own choice. Its good for around 400whp with just lowering the compresion.
