Ukrainian Famine Documentary

Don't watch this movie for laughs, millions of people died tragically in Ukraine at about the time of the Halocaust. This is a short documentary to raise awareness and to get an A in social studies.

I really like the ways you guys informed us about how many people had died. I thought this documentary was well informative and well done. Near the end of the documentary, there is just music playing. So I was curious about why there wasn't anything being shown then. You could put some pictures of the Ukrainian famine in to fill in the blank ending if you wanted to.

I hope you know that this social studies project you did means so much to the people of Ukraine who went through that horror or had family and friends die because of communism and Stalin.Unfortunately there is still not enough recognition for this atrocious cruelty. Most people still have never heard about it and we really need to wonder why. So I just want to thank you. Always keep seeking the truth and speaking up about it! God bless!

Why would you expect the US to intervene? What happened is terrible of course, but who knows how terrible a 3rd world war would have been. If the West would have attacked the Soviet Union we would have had a nuclair war with who knows how much victims. Back then The US and the Soviets were equal in terms of their military power.

A little know fact on the Ukrainian Genocide is that the administrator of the famine program was actually Jewish. His name was Lazar Kaganovich.

"Where was the States in all this?" At the time there WAS a US reporter based out of Moscow branch of the New York Times, his name was Walter Duranty, later dubbed as "New York Times Stalinist".

Duranty would awarded the "Pulitzer Prize" the following year. In 2003 there was a large movement to strip the bastard of the Prize. Although there was great support, the campaign failed and to this day he retains the Prize at the expense of the appoximately 7 million people who starved.

In 2008, the government of Ukraine, the United States, the Senate of Canada, UNESCO and the United Nations joined more than 40 jurisdictions around the world to officially condemn the famine and recognize it as genocide.

I read better facts; Stalin sealed off the entire country- worked the farmers to death- not allowing them any food- selling it all to build it's army. Paying reporters to print lies, cover ups... Other countries were profitting, selling their goods, so they ignored all "rumors" of the famine. What makes me angry; schools never taught anything except hitler's jew genocide. Stalin was fae worse!!!!!!!!!!
