This guy was talking to me. I only caught the end of his conversation before he started talking to other ravens. He's very noisy. Nearby the magpies hang out. They're very silly indeed!

  • I have been feeding my wild crows for months, then all of a sudden they're not coming anymore. Does anyone know why this might be? (Food that I feed them hasn't changed.)

  • @AmyK007 How many of them are there? Usually what happens is that if there's a pair of ravens that comes regularly, they're a breeding pair and it's their area. If it's a large group of ravens, check the eyes. Some of them will be brown. That means it's a group of roving juveniles and unmated birds. You get them, they wander about. They will stick around for a good food resource then naff off for new prospects. It's quite normal behaviour, so don't worry. :)

  • @napalmnacey Thanks for replying! There used to be about 15 crows that came into my backyard and ate the meat and cat biscuits I left for them. Then, in the space of 24 hours they stopped coming. They were all adults, except two. Will they come back? Do they return to the places they have been or will I never see them again?

  • @AmyK007 Probably not that particular group. Ravens tend to search for mates and settle down. But there are always roving groups like the one that visited you. Hopefully you'll get a mated pair settling in your yard, that's your best bet for permanent raven residents. The ones in this video are the mated pair that live in my yard. I'm at odds with them at the moment cause they keep eating my damned strawberries! Thing is, they argue back! And keep eating them! lol!

  • Quoth the raven. ^_^

  • @Gasoline85 I would be so happy to get "Nevermore" out of one of these dudes. I would be like, "Say it AGAIN!"

  • sounds like a cow 0_o

  • @napalmnacey I used to feed them chicken bones, watermelon, bananas, apple cores, cooked rice, pasta, old bread, meat, ham, cat biscuits, fresh water every day.....sad that I can't enjoy that anymore. :(

  • @napalmnacey Oh that is sad. I even bought a bird bath for them (which they loved) and now I will never see them again. Oh well, gives me an opportunity to learn about them and still love them immensely. Sorry to hear about your strawberries. LOL :) I know this sounds funny, because most people don't like them, but I really think they are such beautifully intelligent birds with really nice personalities. I really appreciate them.

  • @napalmnacey Impossible to forget for sure, I was obsessed with birds in WA, even a french friend of mine gave a book about aussie birds to me as a birthday gift. Saludos de Chile.

  • @elfrugal Hey! *waves* Never had a viewer from Chile before (that I knew of). These are birds that you never forget. :D
