@hostelworld Not in Khaosan Rd. You guys should really be careful who you endorse around there, there is a huge lack of transparency.

Khao San Rd may be world famous, but frankly is totally sucks. The dumbest most obnoxious tourists are drawn there, the food is terrible and flavorless, many of the Thai people are annoyed by your presence. If you like drinking until you are drunk off your ass, then go to Khao San. I can stay home and drink with other English speaking people...

@portugal25inportugal The Khao San Road might be cliche but there's no denying the atmosphere down there. It's unlike anywhere else in the world and there's no other street in the world where you can meet people from all over the globe! Has to be visited at least once when visiting Bangkok.

What I love about hostels? Humm, is it the bedbugs. or the head lice? Maby its sleaping with my pack duct taped to my body. No, No, its the location right on the main road ( lots of trucks, and drunks) and the 24 hr disco right next door thumping in time with my hangover. But, then that was where i met Her..... yeh..worth it!

@thepollywog1 You'll find that hostels are no longer like this! Almost all of them offer private rooms, many are off the beaten track away from the hustle and bustle of cities, a lot offer security lockers if you're worried about belongings going missing. Glad you met that somebody special in a hostel though :)
