America installed a military base in every corner of the world, which is good. We should appreciate what they've done for us.They spend billions of dollars to protect the world from the bad. With out them it would be world war #10 today. Think about that.

I am not defending communism in anyway. The whole time I been discussing about my country's issue of sovereignty and how America not only violated it but also contributed an act of atrocity to the people. Yes America can be honored for certain things like killing the NAZI etc. But you cannot say they are the savior of mankind because they are far from it. Soviet Union fell but Red China still exist how do you explain that? America is a dying power look at the currency, it's dropping each day.

The whole war in Laos was cheated in my opinion. If the Vietcong and Americans had agreed to stay out of the war, the RLA might have been the victor, and the Americans would have definitely poured in money and resources to keep Laos free.
What's important now is the direction the current government is going. I do not totally agree with it, but the current Prime Minister has good thoughts, but like always with Khon Lao, its all talk and no walk.

Prove me wrong that the Lao government isn't all talk. Prove it to me. The PM has acknowledge that his government is corrupt and "wants to crack down on it" but there hasn't been anything else besides that.
I don't know whether you mean the Lao Community abroad, or the country itself, but I'm talking solely about the government. Maybe you should re-think you're ignorantly defensive stance.

A CIVIL WAR GOD DAMMNIT. the RLA still had the king and a movement the PL wanted to overthrow to estbalish a presidency type government. i think. if the royal lao army were to prevail and defeat the pathet lao i think laos would be a great country. But to this day laos is improving

It was a slow war. When the Pathet Lao marched into Vientiane, they didn't encounter any resistance. It sorta shows how incapable we Lao are when it comes to running our own government. Before that, the French ran it, before that, Siam had their hands around us.

What I wish to see, it the path towards democracy. True democracy where the people can choose. Social democracy could even work, in my opinion, it would be ideal. It would be part way in what the Communists want and what free loving Lao people want. On a message board, someone muttered that the Lao government might open it as a multi-party socialist government in order to get into the World Trade Organization. Although that poster could never in fact post the "article he read".
