Please forgive me, for not doing a video on this song. I honestly wanted to. But, every time I sat down and listened to it, my mind would wonder with the melody. I couldn't come up with anything I thought would do it justice. Anyway, this is from 1967, after the Tony Williams era. Sonny Turner replaced Tony in 1961 as lead singer.

I first heard this about 20 years ago when a then mid 20s white guy, convinced that the best of black music was behind us, went on a shopping spree loading up on collections of yesteryears masters. I place the Platters amongst the best of the best in this genre and I think this is their signature piece. Well done.

I first heard this song on a jukebox in Ostend Belgium in the late 60s and fell in love with it straight away. There has been many gorgeous songs written since but nothing like this one. Its my fav song of all time. And what a voice that guy had. Why it was never played more is totally beyond me.
