Weekly Protest March from the Mashbir plaza to Sheikh Jarrah - 25-12-09

Some 500 demonstrators gathered at the top of the street that Jewish settlers are taking over in Shiekh Jarakh in East Jerusalem. The demonstrators organized march from West Jerusalem, sang songs and beat their drums in solidarity with the Palestinians kicked out of their homes by the settlers.

The good policemen of Jerusalem, who have probably not read the editorial in this morning's Ha'aretz, decided that a demonstration with no arrests would be unworthy of its name, even though the march and demonstration were coordinated with it ahead of time. Police started arresting people who were already arrested in the past, claiming that they were in violation of their parole. To their great shame a member of the Jerusalem municipality was present with a copy of the appeals' court ruling, canceling the activists' ban from the area, and so most detainees were later released.

The massive demonstration went on with great energy for two hours, and enjoyed the presence of the media.. It is believed that these demonstrations will keep growing in the coming future.

As a Rabbi from occupied Palestine who represents few hundreds families i must to declare my solidarity with the protest.Before the Zio-Nazis came to the Holy land the Jews and the Palestinians lived together peacefully in Shikh Jarach/

The Zionists destroied everything however we have promise from G-D in the holy torah that the Zionist regime will dissapear from the map of the world.

It is difficult to shield ones conscious forever from the injustice and wrenched misery that the Israeli occupation is bringing upon the Palestinians. RoadlessPath knows better who started the wars and the occupation. Palestinians didnt occupy anyone they lived on the land that Israel took by force over the period of 62 years.

Why are they trying to be sow noble, by giving back east jerusalem or breaking down the settlements. Have they all forgotten the 3 wars targetted against Israel which made the conquering possible.

If we would have lived in the middleages europe one war nation losing land, lost it forever, untill it was conquered back. Land for peace is noble but not realistic.

Furthermore, I find it discrimination that jews may not live in gaza or westback if palenstine will be in place. Think about that!!!
