I'm not afraid of women, nor do I want to restrict their rights. My concern is that the area in which I live, there are more DOGMATIC feminists than there are the egalitarian ones- this has skewed some the perception of feminists as a whole in the area in which I live. You don't know which specific area I'm at, also your comment highlights your inability to read properly.

I honestly can't agree with this Freegthought Blogs / Skepchick brand of feminism. I'm 100% with Paula Kirby on this and I'm very surprised that Atheist Ireland would host an event like this. Anyone who thinks they have a point should read Sisterhood of the Oppressed by Paula Kirby.

The problem with feminism is people like Jen McReight make up their own distorted definition of feminism.

MsMcReight, not every self-styled feminist is as reasonable as you are. Many of us fear that granting any more ground to the feminist would lead to a creeping irrationality and injustice in education, the workplace, and family court. Equality of rights is difficult to implement in practice, because a great many inequalities in outcomes are unavoidable.

There are women who call themselves feminist who are also pro-life. The 19th century founding mothers of USA feminism were anti-abortion.
