Following the proper studio procedure during a fire alarm
during a visit to a good friend at a radio station.
How come these things only ever happen whenever I show up??

  • lol. I'll come right out and confess that my camera handling is blair witch at best.

What you're seeing is a textbook studio evacuation from a highrise.

    The station remained on air.

    Drop-songs were added but unnecessary.

And the alarm itself turned out to be triggered by the kicking up of dust due to construction in the parking garage.

  • @Crunchyfrogness Thanks. I am fire alarm enthusiast, and used to have my own fire alarm system.

  • @TssCman123 - Cool stuff, This guy knows his fire alarms! I learned something today.

  • @Gb755c Probably a speaker strobe. Usually radio stations and newsrooms have voice evacuation, that looks to big to be a piezo, plus that chime sounds like that made by a computer, not a piezo, it could be an advanced chime strobe that has a built in speaker.

  • What kind of fire alarm is that?

  • dust can set off a fire alarm? that's more sensitive than me.

  • excellent camera man,, was that a drill or what happened? and did the station stay on the air or get knocked off the air?
