ANCHOR:
For Barack Obama the day started by having breakfast with U.S. troops in Kabul.
He wants to send more troops but that idea met with a mixed response.
STORY:
Barack Obama began his second day in Afghanistan with breakfast alongside
American troops in the capital, Kabul.
The U.S. Democratic presidential contender has been hearing their experiences in a country where violence has risen sharply in recent months.
Obama, who was also meeting Afghan President Hamid Karzai, says they're doing a great job.
[Barack Obama, U.S. Presidential Contender]:
"(I) want to make sure everybody back home understands how much pride people take in their work here and how much of a sacrifice people are making."
Obama wants to send about 7, 000 extra troops to Afghanistan
That idea isn't being welcomed by everyone.
Aid organisation Oxfam says more soldiers won't bring long-term peace and stability.
[Matt Waldman, Oxfam Advisor in Afghanistan]:
"I would certainly say that more effective aid, ensuring there is support for rural development, and indeed working on peace and conflict at a local level, this has been missed in the last six or seven years here."
Among Afghans too there is a sense that much more should be done.
[Ramazan Jan, Kabul Resident]:
"There haven't been any changes to the lives of ordinary Afghans. The visits, and presence, of foreigners hasn't changed the lives of poor Afghans. I came back from Iran after 20 years and I had a better life there. Now I have to work like an animal to feed my family."
[Ramazan Bashardost, Afghan MP]:
"We need a military solution in Afghanistan. We need also a political solution in Afghanistan. We need also an economic solution in Afghanistan."
Obama, who earlier stopped off to meet U.S. troops in Kuwait en route, is also due to visit Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and Britain.

Well you know we could just say fuck you and not fight terrorism so your soldiers can go die, you know what would you prefer what would the world prefer, its much easier for US troops to die than other countries, in my belief america should remove all ties to other countries and focus on supporting itself instead of trying to make this fucked up world a better place
