http://alfredoroldan.com/ Creative process of painting "Madonna with child" of the Spanish painter Alfredo Roldán, permanently installed in the Chapel of Our Lady - Lady Chapel - Saint Bartholomew the Great - London City.
The Priory Church of St. Bartholomew the Great, West Smithfield, the oldest church in London, founded in 1123, commissioned Roldán to paint an altar piece of the Madonna and Child. In February 1999 it was unveiled in the Lady Chapel. The altar piece was dedicated by the Lord Bishop of London and lessons read by Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral) and by his Excellency the Spanish Ambassador. Saint Bartholomew the Great also appeared in a series of award-winning films including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love, The End of the Affair, Amazing Grace, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and The Other Boleyn Girl. It has also appeared in a number of television programmes including Madame Bovary, The Real Sherlock Holmes, Spooks, and The League of Gentlemen Christmas Special.
