The original words:Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy powerful hand. Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, Feed me till I want no more; Feed me till I want no more. Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield; can't fit the final verse here.

Just call it another name, use the tune, but let the Welsh keep their name for it. if you are going to change it that much...it's another song and deserves another name. No side is right or wrong : it's just another praise song that doesn't belong with this title.

is a prebiterian hymn

@DoubleDipperBrian Oh sweetheart, didn't anyone ever tell you there are no stupid questions? And how do you know that you "understand" the scriptures? How are you so much better than I when it comes to religious understanding? Who said you were right?
-
@Bananianiown That is a stupid question. I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer. You don't understand the Scriptures or else you wouldn't need to ask. II Tim 3:16

@DoubleDipperBrian Ah, but with so many "Christians" out there, how is one to know who is truer? And which version of the Bible is the right one? I can tell you one thing, if it happens to be your own faith then you know you have truly made God in your own image.
-
@Bananianiown You mormons are so brain-washed. The lyrics are WRONG, plain and simple. It's not the same message at all. Only cults make different versions of the Bible. True Christians have accurate translations; not revisions/versions. So stop saying that your lyrics are acceptable when they clearly are not.
-
@DoubleDipperBrian Oh, I wouldn't say wrong...just different. It's still has the same message, really. When you think about it, it's kinda like the Bible. So many versions, same old stories...
-
@Bananianiown You so silwy. ROFL And the words to this hymn are STILL wrong.
-
@DoubleDipperBrian Yep, yep, love you too. Have a great day! :)
Very sad rendition. The Mormons rewrote this to support this cultist dogma. These are not the original words to the hymn.

@DoubleDipperBrian I am not a Mormon, but that fact doesn't stop me from enjoying and appreciating this version of the hymn. Are the words of a hymn like Holy Scripture in the sense that they must remain exactly as written?

I have tried to list the words exactly as spoken and sang. Please write the correct words.

@w3tno You have written the lyrics correctly. Apparently the other listener knows the words from another song which utilizes the same melody.

Thanks for your comments. jensmom604 may be complaining about the words in the song itself and not the rendition.
