New in 2008, UC Davis Grounds and Landscape Services sought to develop, design and maintain an ever-changing edible landscape that would reflect the academic research and programs held within the surrounding Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science. This landscape, aptly named the UC Davis Good Life Garden, is an organic planting of fruits, vegetables and aromatics used to help identify wine aroma, surrounded by monumental olive trees. It not only serves as a test site for Seeds of Change, an organic seed company, but as a regional amenity inspiring visitors to plant their own gardens and reap the health and environmental benefits of eating locally-produced organic fruits and vegetables. The UC Davis Good Life Garden is open year round and regularly hosts herb harvest throughout the year. To find out more about these harvests, please visit their website and sign up for the newsletter at: http://goodlifegarden.ucdavis.edu.
