Climbing a steep hill in my area to train for my winter cross country skiing.
I do 4 repeats of the hill and then ski the rolling hills at the top. It is a great intensity training! The slope is 9%.

I use V2 Aero skis as I use the resistance on them extensively and I need the big wheels for roads that are chipsealed. It is quite a bit rougher than regular pavement.

The fog at the bottom of the valley is from the river in which the water is warmer than the air temperature.

  • @benlaf Going back down is tedious.... If I am alone I roll back down on the resistance. It takes a while. If my wife is around I get her to drive me back down, that way I am still in the "zone" when I attack the following climb :-)

The front tire does wear off quicker for sure. Some prefer not to use the resistance but I find the skis roll too easily with the resistance off and the workout is not as intense.

  • Impressive ! I'll be shopping for this exact model in the spring. What I'd love to know is how you get back down.....?! I know they can be purchased with breaks but you don't seem to have any...... And even so, wouldn't wear the tires off pretty quickly.....
