Treadmill manufacturers are telling customers they do not need to lube the belt. As far as using the sponge....I think its a waste of lube. You cannot lube the belt properly unless you get a qualified tech to loosen up the belt to add the lube properly.

"As far as using the sponge....I think its a waste of lube". False here is why... The sponge kit is far cheaper for the home owner to buy and allows the kit to be used as many as three times per kit. At an average $75 for a tech visit... The home owner will save over $200 for something they can do themselves.

Thanks for this video. It helped ease the anxiety of owning a new treadmill. I had no idea I had to do this until I started thumbing through my manuel and the instructions weren't very clear. They recommend the kit you just talked about, so it looks very easy.
