OOOH! ost ich bigib Hiirrsin!

They were exercises called by the RAF unexpectedly whereby all personnel had to report to camp asap.

I attended the crash site, I was serving with the RAF as a rigger on Nimrods at RAF Luqa at the time. Don't know about the fire engine but am still amazed at the lack of deaths & injury, it could have been sooooooooooo much worst than it was.

This vehicle is NOT a Bedford Domestic! The Bedford Domestic did not have sliding
doors rather hindged! The flat front was indicative! The vehicle shown looks like a cross between a MK8 and a DP!! The cab of a B.D. was split! Two seats front and a rear cab for another 2 crew members plus BA`s and otherequipment! Side lockers contained small gear, extra hoses and a small pump.

We were serving in Malta and I remember being up at Kalafrana visiting friends when we saw the Vulcan in the sky in trouble. The Island seemed very still for days afterwards. There was a tacival or minival on at the time, if anyone remembers that?

@linedriver1 You're right, but back then we just referred to it as a Domestic. Bodywork is by Miles.
