Blanka vs. Fei Long - Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix

Fei Long is such an offensive juggernaut in this game. To make matters worse, Blanka has a particularly bad matchup against him. Horizontal rolls are generally out of the question b/c Fei Long can punish missed attempts with 3x Rekka Punches for massive damage. Ditto for Blanka's super move.

On the flip side, it's incredibly difficult to punish Fei Long when he misses. He recovers from Rekka Punches fast enough to block anything Blanka can do (unless he executes the third punch and misses). Plus, Fei Long's recovery for missed flame kicks are ridiculously short. Trying to punish whiffs often result in another Flame Kick to the face.

A good Fei Long player will rush down all day long. As Blanka, there really isn't anything you can do to keep him at bay. All you can do is be patient, accept the fact that you are going to take a lot of damage, and slowly look for an opening. As soon as the opportunity strikes, go for crossover combos and throw attempts.

This guy that I fought was pretty good at rushing down, but he didn't really mix up his moves enough once he got me in the corner. He should have taken advantage of his Rekka Punches and the massive chip damage they can impose over time. Plus, he threw way too many Flame Kicks at such a close distance. Eventually, I was able to bait him into whiffing a lot of them.

how do you do flame kicks i cant seem to understand it

@Vyce23 just think of it like a reverse dragon punch. if you can do a dragon punch with ryu or ken, just do the opposite motion and then press any kick button.
