Disneyland Impressions - Big Thunder Mountain

My third Disneyland Impressions video. This one takes a look at Big Thunder Mountain, and its infamous railroad.

Big Thunder Mountain was the site of one of the biggest gold strikes ever recorded, and miners swarmed to it, taking the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad into its caverns and mines, armed with shovels and pickaxes. Local legend has it, though, that whoever disturbs the mountain shall feel its wrath. And it wasn't long after the first gold ore started coming out, and miners began blasting deeper and deeper into the mountain with dynamite, that the problems started. Sudden and powerful earthquakes collapsed mine shafts and sometimes dramatically altered the landscape overnight; whole trains of mining crews would head into the mountain, only to have the train return to the station empty, the crew missing; eerie sounds sometimes echoed through the dark shafts...The folks of Big Thunder began to put stock in the legend - maybe the mountain was indeed cursed!

In time, these occurrences became too much to handle. The gold eventually ran out, and so did the people of Big Thunder. What had once been a successful mining operation was now just another dusty relic of the old West.

But that hasn't stopped the trains from running down the earthquake-twisted tracks. If you're brave enough to to take a ride, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad leaves the station daily. Just make sure you hang on to them hats and glasses, 'cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!
