I guess some films become great over time.... Personally I hated Burn After Reading when I watched it in the theatres but a few years later... I loved it.

You're not wrong, Walter. You're just a fuckin' asshole.

The reason they hated it back then was probably because they negatively compared it to Fargo, which was and still is considered a masterpiece.

@ichibakudan fuck yeah... they're all about "the director did this and that", but fuck them just watch the movie and decide whether you like it or not. my criticism on critics: FUCK'EM

the very reason art critics in general, for all their eloquence and informed opinions, should never be the final word on anything. while i often happen to agree with what they generally have to say about films, particularly what i find to be the bad ones, on this one they got it plain wrong. and now they're lauding it? BL is an American classic that defied initial critical and box office failure to become a treasure of a film. time heals all critical misconceptions i guess.

fuck critics. at the time of release critics were talking shit, now they love it. Goes to show how useful they really are.
