My mini seems to keep the brake light on for some reason, even after I release the handbrake, and the foot brake. If anyone has a solution to this, please comment. This video will remain up for educational use.

  • The ebrake has nothing to do with that light. You either need a brake sensor or pads replaced. Check Youtube for brake light reset. (however, if you have a light on, you obviously have something that needs attention, I highly doubt you just need a light reset.

  • @orangecrush03 I took it to the dealer, and they said it needs maitenance. However, I am going to replace the brakes, and then take it to the dealer for the scheduled maitenance.

  • So, what did you find - I just started the very same issue??

  • If your brakes need replacing or have been replaced recently then you also need to replace the brake wear sensors. There's one on the front (FL I think) and one on the rear (RR I think). After replacing the sensor if the light is still on then you need to put your foot on the brake pedal, turn the ignition switch to position 2 (i.e.one position beforre the one to start the engine) and wait like that until the light goes out.
