Illegal guns are the problem here -- the goal is to help police track illegal guns and the criminals that buy them for unlawful purposes.

More effective laws wouldn't affect law-abiding gun owners -- tons of them in PA want better illegal gun laws. Controlling access to guns helps stop those criminals from getting them in the first place -- makes sense.

These new guns laws would stop illegal guns from getting into the hands of felons, of people who can't buy guns legally -- especially the law that requires owners to report lost and stolen guns. Those are the guns that ex-convicts and gang members get and those are the guns that kill innocent bystanders, like little kids, and cops.

Are children in philadelphia acquiring guns in such a way that addtional laws would effectively prevent it? How would being able to purchase only one gun per month make any difference, especially if the guns are already acquired ilegally?

xagcx: Gun traffickers (without a criminal record) can now "legally" buy several handguns in a single purchase. They then sell the handguns to someone who could not otherwise get it (someone with a criminal record or someone too young to buy). This is called a straw purchase. Limiting these traffickers to one handgun per month greatly decreases the amount of guns they can sell in the street. Closing this loop hole is one thing we CAN do as adults. @MomsAgainstGuns im calling bullshit on that right there, "More effective laws wouldn't affect law-abiding gun owners" well in the video it just said u cant buy more that 1 gun a month.. last i checked criminals dont buy guns from stores so that law would only be affecting law abiding gun owners... nice contradiction. i suggest ur organization stop fearing guns as these murderous items, and focus more on safety lessons, and shooting classes. cause you will never be able to stop illegal guns.

Homicide laws don't stop criminals from committing murder, just stops law abiding people from killing each other. Ownership laws don't stop robbers and buglers from stealing, just law abiding people from stealing. Gun laws don't stop criminals from getting their hands on guns, just stops law abiding people from getting guns. Only thing stopping criminals is the fear of getting shot back, by the law abiding people.
