Dang what state do you live in? The rules for making it to State on a solo seem pretty loose compared to Texas. Here, you have to play a class 1 solo memorized at the solo/ensemble contest before you can make it.

Congralutations for this music. Y play this 1 week ago, it's superb !
I think this has oodles of expression, but I think you're slightly timid with your tone in some spots leading up to big arrivals, which takes a little from the arrival. That just has to do with pacing of the phrase. Open a little more before the arrival, and I'll probably cry. The room also affected the sound, leaving you very exposed - I think you dealt with that pretty well. Where do you study now?

I was a senior at Sprague High School this last year, and I studied with Brett Randolph. Next year I will be studying at Oregon State University, hopefully with Jay Chen.

Could you tell me about your experience at Oregon State so far - I know it's only a couple weeks in. I'm looking at possibly starting my DMA in performance next year and am browsing schools just in case.

I love the school. Jay Chen is a great trumpet instructor, and overall, the music program is really quite good. The wind ensemble sounds great if I might say so myself.
