there isn't really a universal age for anything. I have no PhD. Lifting weights may not be the best when your 4 or 5 yo, but when you reach ages 8-12yo..its not that bad for you in moderation...keep in mind everyone's genetics vary. I'm not suggesting going to the gym and overtraining nor do i suggest not exercising either

@AthleticFoundations thanks for the video. im really confused on who to believe. ive heard lots of different answers. im a 16yo, and ive recently started weight training at a gym. however it was recommended to me that i wait until im 18 because it 'seriously stunts growth'. so this guy is wrong?

If a 12 year old starts lifting weights ? he will become short if he grows up

@onitsed18 Hey ive done 3 rounds of p90x and im also a beachbody coach and youll be fine to do p90x at your age.

@jackluesing1 thats too much for a 10 year old
Thanks for the comments. There's no evidence that supports that kids who life weights at a young age will stunt their growth. Kids have been lifting weights and doing 1 rep max's from the day they were born. Ever watch a child learn to stand up for the first time? Like anything else, technique is crucial whether your doing exercises with body weight or external weight.
