This year's Globe Award was a great success for all participants. For 2009 the award for sustainable research went to NARI. The Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute research has lead to the development of a light and heat source made from locally produced fuel. It is environmentally friendly and the light produced is equivalent to a 100w light bulb. India's NARI is first anywhere in the world to propose and develope a dual purpose heater and lantern from 55-60% ethanol and water. Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria presents the award.
