Hi guys, This is a video about my unboxing of a Toshiba HX-10. It's a MSX microsoft standard computer made in the 80's for Japan, US and Europe.

European games came in cassetes, unlike the US and Japanese ones who came in carts. Konami's had such an influence in the MSX success, that making his game incredibly sought after for unbelievable prices, we're talking the cart versions.

Hope you enjoy it.

A final SHOUTOUT to a brilliant youtuber and friend Richard aka 1MSX2GO who made my interest for the MSX grow, not only because of his amazing MSX collection, growing day by day, but mainly for his great contributions for the MSX noobs community, which I make part of :)

  • I have one of these computers in the attic. I think I still have the smaller box for the computer, but not the other boxes. I also have a vic-20. I'd like to donate them to a museum at some point, if I can find one that will take them. It would be a shame to throw them out!

  • @dalriada842

I would like to have a vic-20 in my old computer collection, I can't find one here in Portugal. If you would be kind enough to let me have it :(

I would pay you the posting charges ofcourse.

  • Very nice. Interesting how they gave you a screwdriver for the plug.

  • @RPKGameVids

They must have thought I didn't have any :)

It suits the cassete player hole too. The one you use to screw/unscrew the tape recorder heads, so you can adjust the volume for a particular game to load :)

  • Excelente o estado do computador, não é tão difícil encontrar computadores ou consolas bem estimadas e completas como muitos pensam, difícil é que exportem para Portugal. Quanto ficou no total esta compra?

  • @1msx2go

I'm afraid not.. but definetly one to keep an eye on John... ;)

  • @1UPGameOver Jet Set Willy is awesome....did you ever play jet set willy 2?

  • @markvergeer

LOL, I'm used to wait since my 7, because of the Speccy.

But I gotta admit, the MSX cassete loading times surpasses that. It took a whole cassete SIDE to load BREAKOUT :)

  • @1msx2go I love MAnic Miner on the speccy, so most definetly I'm going to like it on the MSX. But did you know my fav game of all time is jet set willy? the successor of Manic Miner ?

  • @1msx2go

Thanks Richard! About the cable... right after I unboxed the MMSX, in the process of conecting all up, I found that it had a regular composite video out and an audio mono out too (you know that yellow jack for video and the red/white for sound), so I took I jus grab my PC-Engine cables which are the same and voilá... I managed to play breakout without the trouble of getting a good RF picture, which I never can.
