Excellent. Great insight.

He either has restrictors or adjustable valves which can be closed off to get rid of the needle bounce. You can see the same effect with your normal vacuum gauge by kinking the rubber hose.

Question from a rookie- Am I right in guessing you are hooked to ported vacuum of each carb? Also, are you balancing mixture screws as well as butterfly position adjustments to obtain the balanced vacuum. I'd think holding the throttle plates at the same dimension from the throttle bore, and then ajusting the mixture screws to obtain the vacuum balance would be the way to go. Am I right? I come from the automotive world so forgive my lack of motorcyle knowledge.

The gauges are hooked up on the vacuum port on each intake. I adjust only the mixture screws. #3 are fixed (a reference, not adjustable)

Very Nice,
what do you have been the bike and vacuum gauges to keep the gauges reading smooth, I've tried a using a vacuum gauge and my needle bounces horrible I am sure there must be something I need to add between the gauge and the vacuum port I am trying to test.
Excellent setup MAn!!!
