@lurch028 Most college bands do park and barks. The concern with a college band isn't a progressive BOA show, it's playing something the audience will like and loud enough so they can hear it. We have more than ten sets per show, it's closer to 30 or so. While they tend to be based off straight lines and 4 step intervals, this is to enable a 400 piece band to learn each show in a week's time so that they can do three different shows, every year. The first performance will be rough, that's life.

the interpretation of Les Miserables in this particular show is horrible. The musicality is not bad though. Really, people should stop having a pissing contest about who is better, UT or Alabama. Both bands are phenomenal, and the SEC is well represented by 3 bands, as Georgia also has one hell of a band themselves. The only bands in the entire country on their scale is VERY limited, with Ohio State coming to mind immediately.

Bama does play very well. They have some very fine shows too. No, they do not march as much as TN, but they have a better sound. It is a shame tho that TN does the same circle drill every yr. Bama is very entertaining in the stands too. No one tho can touch TN's pregame. I really wish bama would revamp their pregame! Their pregame is so "high school." What in the world does the team run thru at bama--it makes no sense. Why not run through an "A?" TN also has great pre-game parade!

The color guard had the most beautiful flags in this show. I mean, gorgeous!

sorry...the MDB is not overshadowed. Especially with the sound that we have now.

sorry i was at the bama v tennessee game this year... circle drill was dominate of mdb's park and blow show

its not very dominant when its the exact same circle drill every year. While it is fun to watch it gets boring when you see the same thing. Its called a Marching Band. Tennessee's band has no volume for its size. They can't overshadow anyone with no volume.

i guess you missed the point of my last post... bamas show was a PARK AND BLOW volumee is nothing when you have like 10 sets of drill for a whole show and easy sets at that, which were not guided down at all the lines were horrible and half the band was rolling their feet the other half weren't it was very mediocre... good volume but at the expense of marching, it is a MARCHING band after all

I don't think the people at BOA would of invited us to go to BOA Grand Nationals this coming season if they thought that the MDB couldn't march very well. I am really confused why you keep calling the show at the Tennessee game a Park and Blow show. There are 10 sets in the first piece and we only played two pieces of music. I have put a video response at the top so you can see a better view of our 60's and 70's show that we played.
