That's a good time though. Faster then what any car with a V8 did back in the late '70s.

that sounds really nice. maybe move the rev limiter up to 5500rpm or shift a bit earlier i guess. nice car anyway. with a lil bit of work should get it into the 14's :D

thats a tough slant you got there what are the upgrades you done to it?

Oh, I know. The 'floaters' I spoke of were in my 383's. Yeah, well aware of mech/flat gear in the slants. My comment was about over-revving, in general. Back when, the 'trick' -at least with 727's- was Ford ATF and slant-6/318 convertors. Have no idea, now, though.

Been there, man;I've floated more hydr-valves than I care to admit. Great run, though.

These are mechanical lifters and I didn't float them, just hit the rev limiter. This motor was built to be able to spin up to 6300rpm but I have the limiter chiped at 5800rpm. Power starts to fall off around 5300rpm. The 904 automatic trans has a delay between the 1-2 shift that I still need to either work out or get used to.

Great time..heard a misfire down the course. Even so, this was the times I was turning some yr's back in a bone-stock, '68 Charger with 383, 4bbl at 3000ft elevation. Well done.

Ya, didn't shift quick enough and hit the rev limiter.
