please help me... i'm trying to make music with cubase but i can't hear a sound!
-
I have cubase Le 4 and when I hit Alt K nothing happens. Do you know what button it is?
-
Where can I download VST instruments? I have only one drum machine (with no sound samples for some reason), and several synths..
-
I am new to Cubase, I tried setting up me drum beat but for some reason appears as 'not connected' and cannot hear anything when I lay down a basic beat.
Help please.
Thanks.

Thanks, this was very usefull. just got new Midi Contoller (the M-Audio Oxygen-25) and i'm practicing making songs cause i just got it all hooked up and working.
To make your life way easier you should start selecting "GM Map" instead of "No Drum Map" on your Drums MIDI track. It's to the left when the drum track is highlighted, same area as where you select the midi ins and outs.
That way when you're plotting down your drum hits it's just dots rather than the messy midi window you're using.

@afxwinter I have tried that before and it is much more confusing to me for some reason and the way tools work in it is just strange for me. I guess I just got so used to the No Drum Map. But you are right, for someone who has never used the No Drum Map, the GM Map would probably make more sense to them at first.

I can see that it records the midi but I can't hear anything...

@Pakanahymni You have to have the midi track outputting to some sort of VST Instrument. I have it outputting to Kontact 4 with Steven Slate drums. Got to 0:30 I talk about pressing F11 and pulling up a VST Instrument. If you do have one up, then you didn't allow that VST Instrument to create the MIDI track by itself. If that's the case, go to your MIDI track and change the output to whatever VST instrument you opened.
If none of this works and you're doing everything I said. Audio card problem?
