Back then pros weren't allowed in the Olympics so they had to pull juniors or college players. The Russians at the time didn't have a professional league but the men on their team were technically professionals. Hockey was all they did. The fact that a team of college players who have never talked to each other can beat a reigning championship team. So it is a miracle

@CorcvusCrocuta The fucking Cold War dumbass. At the time Americans were losing all hope and their were hostages being held in afghanistan. This team of 20 year old college players brought together a country and at the time gave us hope. Do some research, the soviets were around 45-0 coming into these olympics and playing together for years. The Miracle on Ice
